I am so grateful that our father in heaven has given us mothers intuition. A few weeks ago as we went into our doctors appointment for our regular visit I explained to the doctor that I felt a little nervous about things but I was most likely nervous due to what happened with Kenadie. My doctor suggested that we due an ultrasound and have me start coming every week. I felt better that we were going to keep a close eye on her. A week later we went back in for the ultrasound. After the tech was done she told us to wait for a minute and then came back to and said her amniotic fluid was measuring at a 4 plus. Which I had no idea what that meant. Being the week of Thanksgiving the doctor told me he wanted us to go in to the hospital on black Friday and have them put the baby on monitors to see how her heart rate was. So we went in Friday morning and after being their for 3 hours they said she looked good. Then on Monday we went back and had another Ultrasound. They said her fluid was a little bit lower but not by much. They send us home with orders to count her fetal kicks and then another appointment on Thursday. Tuesday evening and Wednesday I had a hard time trying to get her to move. My mom suggested I call the doctors office. I spoke with the nurse she told us to go to the hospital and have then put her on monitors and ordered a few other tests. After being their for 3 hours again the nurse explained to me that her heart was staying too regular, that for a baby of 35 weeks her heart rate should have great lows and highs. I explained to the nurse that I felt like something might be wrong. She suggested that I speak with my doctor in the morning and explain to him my feeling and that she to felt like something was wrong as well. On Thursday I explained to my doctor my feelings and he said if he had to go off all the test that were run she would be great till the due date. But he said if I felt like she was at risk then we could do the c-section and get here. He called the hospital and got it scheduled for Friday afternoon. On Friday we went and had the c-section done. Paislee was born at 5:20pm 4 lbs 7 oz and 17 inches long. After I was done my doctor explained that their was a lot less fluid then they thought and that her placenta was half the size of a normal placenta. He explained how grateful he was that I acted on this feeling I had and that she would be just fine.
Shortly after she was born they took her away and put her on Oxygen. They tried to get an I.V. on her to start getting some fluids in her. After 3 hours of trying to get an I.V. on her the nurse came in and explained that they were going to transport her to IMC hospital in Murray. As they wheeled me in they let me hold her for about 5 mins while they explained that she was going to be transported and that the life flight team were on their way to see if they could get and I.V. started. At 1 am in the morning the life flight team came in to tell us they had finally got an I.V. started on her and that they were going to take her in an ambulance to the IMC hospital and that if blood work looked great she would go home in 3-4 days.
On Saturday My doctor said if I could get up an shower and felt ok I could be released for a few hours to go see Paislee. It was so good to go see her and they then told us she was taken off her oxygen and was doing great without it. I was then released on Sunday with the promise that I would be good and let other help me do things.
I hope and pray that little Paislee we be home in less than a week. She is eating and breathing great and is doing much better than the doctors expected! We are very grateful for this precious little girl that has joined our family!
